The views per day seem to have increased as the site becomes more popular, so pretty soon it'll be getting half a million views a day. At that rate it'll only take about five years, so yeah, it's possible. |

EqD has been online since january 2011, if their archive is to be believed, and is now at 169 million views.
Wait... 169 MILLION??! Holy shit! Anyway, that's about 1.5 years, so about 100 million views per year. At that rate, it takes 10 years in total, or 8.5 years left. But of course the number of views has increased over time. The number of view per year must have reached 200 milion/year now, assuming a linear increase (it's more likely to be exponential, but we're just making estimates here). That means we can get to a billion in as little as four years. That's assuming MLP:FiM is around for that long, which is a safe assumption to make. The number of viewers per year could still increase, but I think everyone who cares about MLP:FiM has heard about it by now - it's been viral for a long time - so it probably won't increase much. In fact, if the number of views per day has been steady for longer, we have less than 200 million but more than 100 million EqD viewers each year. In short, if my assumptions are correct we can expect the one billion mark in four to eight years. EqD will probably be around as long as the fandom. So the question becomes whether FiM will be around for eight more years. And that's imposssible to predict. So basically my answer is 'maybe', with a fuckload of math to explain why. |

EqD is nice, but it needs less WAIFU worshippers and white knights and people making a huge f'n drama about rule 34 and also the religious-nut anonymous posters making a whole religious fuss about things at times.
At least it's a tad less idiotic than Ponychan or 4chan. |

I stopped visiting EQD after they shot down my Fic with a very "4chan" like response. The pre-reader riped it apart and pretty much did everything but help me possibly considerer resubmitting. Thats also about the time that I decided to stop being such a rabid fan and just a casual one that snoops around Ponibooru and is generally a bitch. Lol |
