@Zincy, Chrysalis was an okay villain but nowhere near as fun as Discord. Her song was amazing though.
I actually enjoyed SA and Cadence more than Chrysalis. |

I like Chrysalis due to the potental she showed. I am interested to see how the species of Changelings will be developed and Chrysalis's role as Queen.
I liked Shining Armor too. Mainly because he's a strong-type Unicorn. He has both might and magic on his side. (Even though he hasn't done anything extremely physical in the episode.) I liked Cadence because she doesn't seem as powerful as Celestia or Luna. She's almost kinda like an Alicorn-in-training. With a powerful love/passion spell like that, she's well on her way to perform royal duties. I'm curious to what small part of Equestria she'll watch over... Gah, I can't choose. I love all three. <3 |

@Brenenburg: sorry I took so long to respond to your comment.
I didn't say that because I was annoyed at Zincy, I said that because she just wasn't that interesting of a villain. At least with Discord or hell, even Nightmare Moon we had some sort of backstory for them and they didn't just come in out of the blue. Discord was especially better because he was actually able to mentally torture each of the main six. Chrysalis was just some weird-ass queen of an insect-like horde that came out of nowhere, temporarily beat Celestia and then got shoved off before doing anything else.. I mean I enjoyed her song, but really it just seems like the fans have fallen in love with her for no reason like they did with Trixie. |

^ As an addendum to my above post: she had a lot of potential to do more cooler things but the writers clearly ran out of time. It's unfortunate that they were limited to only 40 minutes otherwise issues like that would probably have been solved very easily. |

@Saint_Braeburn: Well yeah. He was an old enemy of Celestia's and he ruled with chaos. They said that in the beginning of the episode if I remember correctly.
With Chrysalis, we got a vague "threat made against Canterlot," and that's kind of it. I don't know, I'm probably just being too nitpicky about all this. I mean it is just a cartoon. |

You can't really compare Chrysalis to Discord. Discord was very open about his intentions with everything and just did stuff on the fly whereas Chrysalis clearly planned her attack out and was trying to be mysterious about it. But hey, I'm not going to push the issue. If you don't like her, you don't like her and not everyone has to like everything I like. I can also see where you're coming from when it comes to one-shot characters like Trixie getting more love from the fans than they really deserve though. Just my two cents. ...I really need to stop using Ponibooru as a discussion board lol. |
