I thought that poor dental care could result in crooked teeth. On the other hand, I have no idea how anything in the human body works, so I'm probably wrong. |

Generally you have no control over whether you need braces. Though I suppose if you had severe gum disease, and you teeth were literally swimming around in you mouth as a result of it, that could be attributed to poor dental health. |

Wisdom teeth can cause crooked teeth as well. The human mouth isn't really designed to have all of its teeth by the time you're an adult and wisdom teeth are evolution's spare tire so to speak.
...I don't know about horses though... |
