Well this makes me sick. Love and Tolerance will only go so far once furrys get involved in the fandom.

I've seen people do it. It looks really hot and stuffy, so you wouldn't catch me dead in one. You should only do it if you really, really want to. Consider the insane amount of cash it costs to buy one too...

Indeed. I don't mind them being fans, but once they start putting their creepiness all over everything then that's where I draw the line

I don't understand the appeal of it. If someone is willing to explain this I will keep an open mind especially considering I like drawing cartoon ponies.

you'll need one with a fan, if it wasn't for the intense heat and claustrophobic feelings I'd probably wear a fursuit occasionally
I have a friend that makes them she's pretty decent

I've never been part of the furry community

But I was a mascot for my high school, and I gotta tell you, that was not an experience I would take up again lightly.

It's just a costume. Don't freak out so. These are very well done. And anyway, I've never heard of a furry club. Conventions yes, but not a club.

What is the appeal?

Fursuits do get hot and stuffy, with all the fake fur, padding, etc- that's why most have some form of ventilation, and why most fur-cons have at least one or two rooms refridgerated down to the near 50's. I had one costume once, and though it had no padding, it was like an oven. 2004 haloween in texas was a pain. But seriously, it was fun as well. check a fursuiting .org site if it interests you, for more information.

What is the appeal?

The fursuits always put me off, but you know what? Big Mac over there is really pulling it off well.

OP here. I don't know. I've never done it. Never even seen it. It was just so fun in the dream and I felt like I was part of a really cool community and oddly enough I really felt like I was myself and like I belonged. I don't know; just a dream but now I'm interested.

Well to me, a fursuit had the same appeal as any costume- you dress up to be something else. I no longer have the fursuit I made- donated it to a costume shop. But to me, there is no difference between wearing that or wearing a Fallout vaultsuit. the only slight difference is maybe a little more anonymity, because the head/mask covers more.

As 987 said, they're just costumes. If think it'll be fun to dress up in one, by all means, go ahead. You don't have to associate with the furry community to enjoy dressing up as a My Little Pony character. As for the stuffiness and high temperatures, they're always going to be a problem in any kind of full-body suit like that, unless you can afford to rig it up with an air conditioning system.

OP here. Despite a little bit of ribbing you guys were actually pretty helpful. I will check out fursuiting .org and look more into it. It just really seems fun to me.

Oh hey, finally a pic of a Rarity one. That makes all the mane 6 I've seen. Cool.

Hey, OP, have fun. Aaaand despite what any number of you have heard, most fursuiters don't do the nasty in those suits. I mean, have you SEEN the price tags on those things?! They can EASILY reach into the four-digit range.

I haven't fursuited but I have worn a full body costume(I was Eddie Eagle for an NRA fundraiser)

Needless to say it was fun even if I was sweating my balls off. I would do it again if I could get one with a better cooling system.

OP here. Nothing sexual happened in my dream and I don't expect it to IRL. It was just fun.
