OP here. I would like to say I did NOT make this picture, or the original deviantART journal.
I'm a bit skeptical of this, but the person who made the journal post brings up some good points. Please note the maker of the image viewed the eye thing from a completely neutral point of view. |

Many background Ponies share the same eye color instead of each getting their own one. So they took the closest to red: Magenta Magenta is normally used on blueish Ponies like RD. |
