I think the writers would have found a way to make the audience care about Blueblood and like him. Within the course of one song they made us believe that Twilight Sparkle had a loving friendship with her big brother whom we never even heard of before, so I can imagine that they could get most fans to forgive Blueblood if they wanted to write him that way. |

The whole thing with "catching the bouquet" is because the person who does is supposedly the next one to get married. Rarity was pretty desperate to get it.
Not sure if they'd go anywhere with that, but it happened. |

I don't know how big it would be but if the wedding was a success, it would mean they're killing off Rarity's character. Either that or they're ending the series in S2 because there's no way they would continue Rarity's character in S3 as a married pony.
On the other hand, if Blue Blood had evil intentions for marrying Rarity the same way that Chrysalis did for marrying Shining Armor, causing Spike to go Dragon Rampage Mode on Canterlot guards loyal to Blue Blood to stop the wedding and save Rarity, then it would probably be an interesting episode. |

I doubt that a Mane Six wedding would "kill" said character. There are a lot of shows that continue after someone get's married. As long as Rarity and her husband stay in Ponyville she can still hang out with the rest of the gang, it wouldn't change that much.
However Blueblood needs some massive character development and more apperances in Season 3, otherwise it's not going to happen. Rarity and Fancypants or a new pony would be far more likely. |

It would be deliciously hilarious. If it happened, I could well need surgery after injuring myself laughing at the fanrage.
Spire/Rarity people could then split into Spike/Sweetie and Spike/Rarity's_hypothetical_daughter camps Prepping Blueblood's character wouldn't be even that hard. Making a transition from "clueless jerk" to "jerk with a heart of gold" is just a matter of scene time and semantics. Knowing MLP, they'd probably do it in a song to boot, and we'd love it (except for those who hate it). |

Lol, its not like a show has ever trolled its fanbase before. Its like Katara and Zuko in Avatar TLA. All tropes were leading to Katara and Zuko only for it to become Katara and Aang on the last episode. What's even funnier was that casual viewers who didn't give a crap about the shipping were completely confused on who ended up with who and why because they missed the few episodes integral to the development of the final ships. |

She was a jerkass when she was in the show. Calling ponies to stage to humilate them publicly? Not cool. And remember she chose Applejack first, not her heckler Rainbow Dash. And she did so after all of Ponyville didn't applaud her boasting. She treated the two boys who adored and defended her like crap. And after she was served her humble pie, she instead ran off going on about how great she was. She wasn't even sent away, she just ran. Has she changed in the meantime? Why would she? In any case, we don't know. We have seen Blueblood stand next to Rarity without a problem though, so if anything, HE has changed. |
