I guess I'm a weird here, but when I saw the image, I just thought she was pregnant with changelings, and to get requisite love to feed herself and her brood, she "adopted" Scootaloo, because nothing is stronger than the unconditional love of an (possibly orphan?) foal. |

What's really sad is, if Queen Chrysalis is careful and can keep up a good act, and treat scootaloo well enough, that unconditional love will be far stronger than what Shining Armor gave- and that love won't be "ambient" like Armor's was- it will be love given directly to her. She'd be ungodly powerful. |

Given her name, and the fact she does feed on love, I'm not sure if that's a stomach so much as, literally, a chrysalis... she could be transforming ponies into more changelings rather than digesting them. |

And I do know what love is. Chrysalis, on the other hand, just thinks it's delectable. And, nah, the two inside aren't the other CMC. I based 'em on the unicorn filly model used for Ruby Pinch, Tootsie Flute, and Dinky, and the colt model used for Lickety Split and others since season 2 started. No one in particular, though.
