The Legend of the Copper Gollum
Legend tells of 4 brilliant ponies who put their minds together to create a Gollum made of copper. His task was to watch over and maintain the Cogs of Life, mythical instruments used by the Gods of legend to control and manage a pony’s life. When they put the Gollum to work, it was happy with its job, the powers of creation and life flowing through its form. However, as time passed, the Gollum realized his powers over not only life, but death. The land was scourged with the darkness that had accumulated in the Gollum’s heart, ponies slain left and right by its lust for more and greater power. Acting quickly, Celestia and Luna fought and banished the creature into a realm of fire and clockwork, where it would be forced to weave the Cogs of Life with no pleasure, and never be able to influence the lives of ponies again. |

Just because Golems are of Jewish folklore doesn't mean that other things don't use Golems in their own original worlds. A Golem is just inanimate material (rock, metal, etc) made animate through magical/spiritual means.
