No, the list says. Nostalgic games that were never good.
Wich is true FF VII was never good, but the press and the fanbase prise was too much.

Final Fantasy VI was the series peak, everything went to hell after that.

I'm surprised no one seems upset about Tomb Raider being on the list.

No if you excuse me, I'm going to find images similar to the 1 Anon563 posted.

Tomb Raider hasn't been relevant in years, few people care for that series. I played the original on PC and my it was broken even for the time standars, I don't know if the Playstation version if any better.

I never really enjoyed Final Fantasy, its kinda cliched anime-vise.
And I also watched Spoony's reviews.

I'm actually looking forward to the Tomb Raider reboot. Hopefully it can capture what that series was really about.

Why Trixie looks like a 3yr old kid with a necklace?
Why Twilight is using a Wire-Fu dress?
What's wrong with those clothes?

Yeah, FF7 may suck, but you have to admit that one thing that it did well was set up the menace of the antagonist, and the main hero's conflict with him.

During the "fake" flashback to Nibelheim, Sephiroth is freaking invincible and Cloud is kind of a puss, yet in Cloud's version of the past, both are 1st class members of the paramilitary organisation SOLDIER, implying that while Cloud might be good enough to be the best, Sephiroth is still in a league all his own.

The music and overall atmosphere of Sephiroth's descent into madness is brilliant, the first time I played it I got chills up my spine walking down that spiral staircase hidden behind the bookshelf. I was genuinely intimidated by the thought of continuing the conversation in the basement.

The flashback scene sets up a rivalry between Cloud and Sephiroth, it doesn't just tell us why we shouldn't like Sephiroth, it shows us, it takes us on a fucking journey. I'm not ashamed to say that I keep a separate save file just to play that part of the game over and over again.

Then comes the time when you come face to face with that omnicidal maniac, you're expecting things to go all Kill Bill, but no; Sephiroth takes one look at Cloud and says "Who the fuck are you?"

All through out the game, Sephiroth is both intentionally and unintentionally manipulating Cloud through his need for revenge.

That whole dynamic shifts once we see Cloud's catharsis: he wasn't good enough to call Sephiroth his equal, Cloud was just some no-name foot soldier who never got to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a hero -- in reality, he's a loser! Despite all that, Cloud is still determined to fight Sephiroth and get payback for the loss of his home and the murder of his friends and family. More than that, though, he knows that if he doesn't see the conflict through, then no one else will.

Sure, you could argue that FF7 has a ton of plot-holes, things that frustrate and irritate anyone with a functioning cerebellum, and I'll even agree that all of the derivative games are shameless fan-wankery, but at its core, the game is about two warriors who live for each other's destruction; one who's good because he must be, one who's evil because he wants to be.

G4 MLP is the worst animated series ever because it isn't like the previous ones or follow the other story lines!

...yeah.

As a game, FF7 wasn't bad.
Get over it.

FF7 was the best IMO.
Because it was the most fun, had the most likable characters, the best overarching theme IMO, the most customizable combat, the most extras.

FF6 is awesome in its own right, but I always felt a bit restricted by that game's world at times.

Also, the metaphysical backstory, the 'whiny' stuff in FF7 is in fact its strong point.

Altered Beast was just fine. A bit hard, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

FF7 was mediocre, but just like Sonic; the rabid fans completely ruined it for me and I can only look back and hate it now.
