Okay, don't let this distract you from the more important comic, but here is a Schemelestia fic for you: Celestia in a desperate attempt to stop the extinction of the alicorn sub species (and a subconscious attempt to fill the void left by her banished sister) would attempt to encourage marriages between members of the aristocracy who carried alicorn genes. Blueblood was a warning about the risks of such inbreeding. Cadence was the first success, the only alicorn born from non-alicorn parents in a thousand years. Without an alicorn partner in sight Celestia chose the second best option and paired up one of her chief researchers, Mrs. Sparkle, with another unicorn wth vastly powerful magic, hoping to create an unicorn with more magic than what anyone has ever seen. Now keep in mind that Celestia did not enjoy doing this. She had several factors to consider, like her evil sister's eventual return for which she urgently needed more magic on her side. She'd raise the first child of the Sparkles to be a powerful fighter and a suitable spouse for Cadence when something unexpected happened. The Sparkles had a second child, a girl. However when Celestia appeared they flat out refused to give this second child to her as well. They felt that they had done enough for the kingdom and would raise this child peacefully without allowing her to be manipulated for a higher cause. "And if she chose to come to me by her own free will?" Celestia asked. "That would be entirely her own choice." Mrs. Sparkle answered. Celestia left, seemingly submitting to the parents' wishes. But she couldn't stand only to watch forever. One day when Twilight was walking home from Magic Kindergarten, she approached her. "I am Princess Celestia." she said. "Have your parents told you about me?" "Not so much..." Twilight answered hesitantly. This was true; her parents were strangely silent about the ruler of their kingdom. "Well if you don't have anything better to do, come watch me on Sunday." Celestia said. "I'll hold a place for you in the front row." By then she knew she knew that Twilight would have great potential. But she needed a little more push, something to feed Twilight's growing obsession with magic and prepare her for the events yet to come. After some thinking, she sent for her niece Cadence who by now has grown into a beautiful young mare. It was time to set her plan into motion. "Niece, have you ever visited the Sparkle household?" she asked. "NO? I hear they have a son just about your age. Anyway, you've become quite a grown woman. It is time you stood on your own four hooves. Times have been hard on our treasury and every tiny bit matters. I was thinking...How do you feel about a babysitting job?" |
