Obviously, the defeat of the solar-powered pony was a blow to Banjo's confidence. Clearly, Chrysalis didn't fear the power of the sun.

As an aside, I meant this more as a joke related to Daitarn 3, and not necessarily an opportunity to dwell on Celestia's defeat anymore than people already have (though this is obviously unavoidable given the subject of the picture). This means you, Impious. :p

What do you expect from a world where friendship is a weapon? The Changeling Queen was powered by *love*, the most powerful thing in their world.

Wait, that guy's name is Banjo? What are his abilities, having a giant red bird in his back pack?

Daitarn 3... Isn't that a robot anime? I think I saw a few pictures on the Mykan MST...

Celestia just got to close to the grill at a cook out (that took place inside. what, it happens...) and AJ put to much lighter fluid. Turns out RD switched it with gasoline. At least it wasn't Napalm. Once that stuff's on you, it's *not* coming off.

I can't believe some people are liking Celestia less because she was defeated. Let's say you're best friend gets the shit beat out of him. Are you suddenly not his friend anymore? Yeah she could use a good workout and some experience grinding, but holy shit some people are just unreasonable.

also, holy shit daitarn 3

what an obscure reference, plus ten internets

He's basically James Bond with Batman's backstory and fortune (and butler). Also a giant robot.

He's also super manly. In one episode, he ran around the Arctic Circle in his underwear (breaking free from captivity), shooting robotic mooks.

May or may not be an android. Super Robot Wars isn't clear on that.

No kidding. I watched it on Adult Swim, (and on toonami, oddly enough). Adult Swim had this nasty habit of repeating the same three episodes, so I never found out what was even happening.

My best guess is... Yah, I got nothing. Big O is almost as convoluted and senseless as Fooly Cooly. But less hilarious and more just, you know, weird.

Wasn't there a robot that turned anything it touched into sand? I don't got a clue.

I mean, Big O had some pretty brutal robot-on-robot/monster/eldritch abomination/demon combat, but it made absolutely no sense.

some people jsut dont get that Fims mythos has traits of ancient Greek mythos

The Gods back then had a jurisdiction, like Celestia and the Sun, but they were not truly all powerful , i have power over everything Gods, they could be defeated and could be matched in power. Titans, Heros, Monsters, demi gods , there were a good bit of each of these that could challenge the Gods.

Imo and how it seems she might be, i see Chrysalis as a Titian class, just somewhat weaker then the Gods but not to far off, She is a queen of a Succubi Race where they are all pretty much insectoid alicorns after all, and she was also feeding off of SA who imo along with Twilight would Fit the demi god class. Which did give her the boost she needed.

OH SHIT BRO, NEVER MIND

I remember seeing that on Toonami. Good fucking gracious it's been a long time. It had like these massive forearms with hydraulic/pneumatic impact pistons in them or something.

Or you know the entire 'deity' stuff was ALWAYS pretty baseless fanon and this is just the first truly jarring in show example pointing that fact out. Celestia is a strong magic user and the ruler of the nation, anything beyond that was fairly baseless fanon not really supported by the show. In that framework it's perfectly sensible that other power magic users can challenge and even defeat her given the proper conditions.

The thing with people is that they seem to think deities are supposed to be omniscient or omnipotent like the Judao-Christian god. It doesn't work that way with fantastic creatures where pretty much most creatures possess magic or where there's stuff like Hydras walking around.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure nothing in the series, Celestia included, is described as being a "god" by anyone besides fans.
