*chinscratch* New headcanon. The holes aren't actually there; there's flesh and hair underneath. Those spots are the residue of their chameleon fields in standby; Achilles'-ankle-type "birthmarks" where you see whatever's on the other side of the "hole", like how real-world chameleon cloaks work (camera + LED fabric). |

Given that their are holes in her hair, doesn't that imply that it's not hair, and perhaps some sort of insect-like veil? |
