"race in danger of starvation".

Right. Look, buddy, it was Chyrsalis's decision to go with espionage and open war instead of, oh, I don't know, NEGOTIATION.

^ Well, he is the master of chaos, he would have disjointed logic and the ability to twist words around. And the Changelings are bugs. They'll just eat some leaves and they'll be fine.

Negotiation...yeah negotiation with creatures you plan to basically drain the life out of usually goes over swimmingly

One can't say that they will drain your life away AND try to paint them as tragic, starving critters. At least, not at the same time.

If it's the former, then there is no way that the Equestrians should be considered to be in the wrong, since they were simply defending themselves from an invading force.

I don't think the Changelings are starving at all. They can blend in flawlessly and can feed on you without you knowing it, they probably have entire towns under their control as farms.

No, that was just conquest for the sake of conquest. They're an alwayschaoticevil race.

^^ Actually, they seems to draw power from their feeding rather than merely sustenance. Chrysalis became powerful enough to defeat Celestia, after all.
