I'm pretty sure she just doesn't immediately lose energy for some reason, she'll need to drain more love to keep it but she's pretty powerful still |

Was it cumulative though, or did she lose all the power when the link was severed? (I'm going to go with the second one)
also will the changelings return? Or did Luna go and finish them off when nopony was looking? |

What I say is that while ponies' magic energy regenerates over time, changelings' magic energy decays over time, meaning that changelings have to constantly feed off of magic energy, which they do through seduction. Without Shining Armor's magic energy, Chrysalis will become a worthless pile of chitin due to a lack of magic energy. |
