Really, that some anon is going through the effort to recolor a bunch of old artwork just to troll is... actually pretty sad.

Not really any sadder than anons re-posting old drawings of her with red eyes just to troll.

I don't know. Can someone do a test?

As for Magenta, according to Wikipedia it's a shade pink, purple and red.

So, what now?

Calling magenta "a shade of red" makes about as much sense as calling brown "a shade of green." Magenta exists between red and blue on the spectrum, so it is neither red or blue. It is closer to red than blue in the same way that violet is closer to blue than red, but really it's ultimately semantics.

A "shade of red" refers spots on the spectrum that do not vary far from true red, and might differ in levels of lightness and darkness. Magenta is too far away from any of the primary colors to be considered part of one, the same way that purple is not blue.

That's why people say it's 'close enough' because it is. Nobody is exactly saying that stuff like Cyan = Green or anything like that.

Well, a lot people actually do. But then that is probably normal, given that most mammals are colorblind.

Eyecolour aside, I feel that the proportions for the face are a bit off.

Artist here - I prefer her with magenta eyes.

The creators of this show know what they are doing with color - cyan to magenta creates a perfect analogous color scheme, check it out for yourself on an additive color wheel.

I don't necessarily endorse the idea of editing someone's art to make it more "accurate", but in this case I do think it looks better this way.
