Because I like to joke that she is a craddle robber and that Shining is her 12th husband

,,, I want to say yes

Yes, see this is why I was uneasy with the marriage in the first place

^They've been around for well over 1,000 years. Yes.

Cadance hasn't. My (and I think the majority of the fandom's) headcanon is that she's the rare mortal Alicorn.

Same her Jack. So I imagine this is actually her first marriage, and she has yet to experience the pain of loss, over and over and over again.

I'm going with no but I don't think Celestia or Luna are immortal either

Also, I had any thoughts of her being immortal dismissed when Twilight had her flashback and Cadance was very clearly in her teens.

I actually hope they aren't immortal, though.

Their lifespans, at that point, would be billions of years long. That's horrifying to think about.

Cadence > Doesn't have flowy royalty hair

Doesn't know the longevity spell.

638: I'd say top tiers (like Celestia and Luna are...or if their are ones of Light and Dark)

and Cadence is a mid-tier Alicorn, and she just has longevity

No she's definitely not immortal. As for Luna and Celestia I would say no as well. They have extraordinarily long lives not endless ones. Also they can clearly be hurt and possibly killed by magic as Chrysalis showed us.

@SlaverBVC Immortallity doesn't imply eternal. Immortals are born like everyone else, after all Luna is the younger sister.

^ But if the were immortal they would age slower than that.

With some luck they explain it in season 3.

You could say something like Celestia and Luna connection to the sun and moon makes them immortal. And they Alicorns are very rare but can happen kinda like in real life a white horse can happen but is very, very rare.

Nope, she's not even an alicorn. She's a unicorn with Bob's disease.

Personally, I think that only Celestia and Luna are immortal. Cadence is clearly a very young Alicorn, and although Alicorns seem to be very are (they only seem to appear in the Royal bloodline), they are not necessarily the supernatural phenomena that a lot of fans have poised them as. If there are other Alicorns marrying and procreating like Cadence, and they're all immortal, then Alicorns would be everywhere.

Celestia and Luna's apparent immortality may have more to do with their "special talents" than with their species. Being associated with seemingly eternal objects like the Sun and Moon may have given them unnaturally long lifespans.

Love is, in individual cases, impermanent. So Cadence ages regularly while the sisters remain eternal due to the nature of the sun and moon.

^You're probably right dude. For me, alicorns are just powerful beings with very long lifespans, not gods.

Look only an alicorn with a super form is able to regenerate their health to a younger age as long as they can support their power. Celestia and Luna are the two we know of for sure. You can tell they have a super form just because of their glowing flowing manes and tails. Just like a super sajin's hair turns gold!

Theory:
She is a lesser alicorn - a descendant (direct or indirect) of one of the princesses, or (if you are not such a canon purist as some) another greater/true alicorn. Lesser alicorns have very specific powers - in Cadance's case, over love - and are slightly stronger and tougher than regular ponies, but are neither immortal nor particularly long-lived. There are also ponies with only trace amounts of alicorn blood (or whatever) - like Blueblood, that are simply somewhat bigger and can be of any pony breed. Lesser alicorns and divine-blooded are given honorary titles by Celestia, who just loves the fact she has ponies she can call family - however distant.

The royalty of FiM seems to work like the Greek pantheon. Some of them are immortal because of their pure lineage, some are half mortal therefor have godlike powers but age and die. Gods, Titans, demigods, and mortals can hurt each other, but lesser races have more difficulty. Read some mythology.

Oh, the point I was trying to come to is that she could be, depending on who her parents are. At most, her children with Shining Armor are likely to be demigods. Also, immortality doesn't inherently increase the length of time it takes to reach adulthood. Immortality would likely come from the lack of aging beyond the point that the body normally begins to wear out, whitch would be right after puberty finishes.

I believe that only Celestia and Luna are immortal while other alicorns grow normally like other ponies... So, no. Cadence is not immortal.

I'm Guessing that the 3rd line of royalty mentioned in the book on hearts and hooves day (with illustration of an alicorn) is mortal, and the descendants of said line, some alicorn, some not are mortal as well. Making up the so-called 'nieces' and 'nephews' since adding however many times removed/ "My dear 13th Niece!" would be awkward.
As for the royal sisters, it could be an effect from the sheer amount of magic they have, like the stories of the immortals, or be the long term effects of the elements, explaining why Celestia keeps them away from the bearers except when needed.

Yes. I think she is equal with both princess celestia and chrysalis which is why chrysalis could not kill her so she just left her their. If chrysalis had not been empowered Celestia and her would have been on another stalemate like what happened to Cedance.
