Even though there has not been direct hostility towards people who are embracing Vinyl's official eye color from the group that is still in denial about it, the fact that there ARE fans in denial about it is in itself a bit of a passive-agressive shitstorm. There are lots of images and videos out there of fans trying to "prove" that her eyes are actually red even though the show demonstrated otherwise, which means that like Shining Armor being Twilight's brother, there are a lot of fans whose knee-jerk reaction is to act like it doesn't count.
Eventually the fandom will get over it and accept that her eyes are not red, but like all shitstorms, it's not going to happe overnight. I think that once most fan artists have switched over to drawing her with her official eye color, the luddites will finally accept that it's time to move on. |
