"Now let's see which one of you girls couldn't resist putting the mask back -- a changeling?"
"Yes! Look, I have to eat -- and everypony loves Mare-Do-Well... and she's not even real, so no harm done, right? Please don't tell!" (Would have worked better with a random changeling other than Chrysalis, but my artskills are nonexistent.) |

At first she did it to feed, then she came to like the job itself... |

^So you're saying she became the mask?
Can't wait for all the Redemption fics this will spawn. |

That actually might work: perform major acts of heroism, feed on the genuine love of the grateful ponies. |

Close enough! :D |

Still a villain at heart, but there's a good profit to be made in acting like a hero. |

Nah, when a fundamental evil villain degrades herself into doing good deeds and risking her own life, she is no longer a villain.
She would be an attention whore. |

^ Isn't that the point of a Changeling? Gather all the attention and love for food? |

^^ please tell me what's so degrading about satisfying your basic biological needs? Although I agree this would make them not be a villain anymore, but what makes a villain badass is not how evil they are but how plot shaping their schemes are. |
