I still think, deep down, the reason she was so easily defeated was because she doesn't possess the power of love herself, in any amount. Damn sad if you ask me. You can move the damn sun, sure, but if the basis of magic is friendship, and you don't actually have any real friends, yeah, you're going to lose that magical duel with the succubus hopped up on the power of love, which is the extreme form of friendship and therefore superior magic. She never had a chance. |

Am I the only person who thinks that she was restricted from unleashing all her power because of the massive crowd of her subjects so close and tight packed? she always struck me as the kinda lady to go for be area of effect attacks, not a pin point beam like she was using. |

I got the impression that Celestia just got over cocky and made a mistake. Or was using an extremely weak attack to avoid killing others in the vicinity. During the brief confrontation, The Changling was struggling and looking worried/scared, knowing she was completely out of her element. Celestia looked like she was swatting an annoying fly. Underestimating a far weaker opponent, Celestia didn't react in time when the huge amount of feeding gave the Changling just enough oomph to overpower her attack. Before Celestia could add more power and take it seriously, she was downed. Like everything, all of this is open to interpretation. |
