Huh, I just realized that Cadence has a bit of G1 in her design. The color scheme is very gen 1 and the bows in her mane and tail also like first gen. |

OBVIOUSLY....
After Princess Celestia took Twilight on as a special student Twilight had to move to the palace/school but was still far too young to take care of herself. Cadence, Celestia's niece (or whatever) was tasked to take care of Fillylight Sparkle while Celestia did government shit. |

It's quite obvious this was before Twilight was accepted as Celestia's pupil. It just happened to coincidentally be Celestia's niece doing the foal sitting. Maybe this was what sparked Twi's massive curiosity in magic... Maybe it was the range of magic Cadence could perform. So when Celestia raised the sun during that festival, Twilight finally had the drive to persue said thirst for her curiosity. Further more, it is possible that despite being on the grounds of canterlot ( which we can see the castle grounds are much more expansive than previously thought ) That Twilight's parents may have gotten Cadence to do the sitting considering it is standing notion of them being mixed into the palace staff.
Whatever the reason, Twi did not turn her parents into plants yet. Celly has yet to see her potential in magic, and Cadence seems to age normally unlike other Alicorns... Maybe there are alot of them, but they are not all powerful like the Regents are. |

Good point about the cutie mark. I had sort of assumed what Galavanche had said, but yeah, you guys are right.
There's probably a reasonable explanation for how they met before Twilight was taken under Celestia's wing, but I'm not about to hazard a guess. |

Ooooooooor Celestia had her eyes on Twilight for quite some time, after all we know the test for filly Twi was made by her and was very exclusive (dragon egg adn stuff), so maybe she had her niece doing the foalsitter job to keep company of Twi/have an eye on her. |
