Didn't notice the Windows logo or the fact that Luna came flying from the moon, although not definite.
Maybe they rebuilt the Sister's castle in the Everfree forest and resides there now? Still, nice catches. |

Either that, or given a 1000 years and nothing else to do with them, she made one heck of a swag digs up there and, once free, decided they were too good to just abandon. |

Luna seems to have her own pony race of guards which we haven't seen since. The home she remembered lies in ruin and perhaps she didn't want to stay in Canterlot. It could be that she has chosen to share in the rule from some other part of Equestria, that she rebuilt the old castle, or that another area was in need of her to keep watch and offer guidance.
Would be interesting if there was a Transylvania sort of place, rife with spooky lore and seemingly frightful beings. Not hard to imagine Luna having a soft spot for anything that had been cast out or misunderstood. |

The Kite actually reminds me of Google Logo more (specifically the Google Colour Scheme, which takes many forms) than Windows.
Head-Canon: Luna created a Lunar Pony quasi-race (quasi because their is Pegasi, Unicorn, and Earth Pony versions), The Shadowbolts are an example of some. So she lives there with them but often revisits her native land. |

1. Luna doesn't need to leave Canterlot to raise the moon. Celestia has no problem raising the sun while in the city.
2. Going to the moon and back every day would take too much time. 3. Why would she live in an abandoned, crumbling castle ruin in a dangerous forest? 4. Simplest explanation? Castle in the sky, like Cloudsdale, but smaller. |
