@Super_Writer I felt the same at first glance. Then, I thought about it a little. Cadence's abilities are focused around love, as the flashback showed us. Also, as an alicorn, even weakened Cadence is probably quite powerful. Add to that the fact that Cadence had just broken the spell on Shining Armor, thus cutting Chrysalis off from the source of her greater power. As much as logic fits in, this ending made sense.
Also, I really like the evolution this indicates for the series. It started with friendship, and now love has been shown as a potentially stronger force. The possibility now exists that season 3 will actually have romance plots from time to time. I'm encouraged! |

I legit thought they were gonna die at this part. Like, they were gonna sacrifice themselves to kill/banish/whatever all of the changelings. But then I remembered that this is My Little Pony and not Mass Effect 3. |
