Using the Power of Love was cheesy but really nice. |
| Flamma_Man #1298512 2 months ago |
Yeah, actually glad they didn't use the-WAIT, HOW WOULD THEY HAVE OPENED THE DOOR IF CELESTIA IS THE ONLY ONE?!
Thanks, Celestia. Maybe they changed the system after Discord. Whoo, head-canon, you're the best... |

Just like with the Windigos, the elements are not needed to weaponize emotion in this universe. I guess the source of all magic and power in Equestria is emotions... which opens up a lot of possibilities. If you can weaponize love, can you weaponize hate to counter it? |

Fanguy, what counts as cheesy, something so simple it is bad? over done? easy to spot? hmmm |
| Anonymous #1298533 2 months ago |
@Zincy
In Universes like this love always trumps hate |
| RandomFanguy #1298539 2 months ago |
My definition of cheesy is overdone, cliché, and sweet. But whether or not that is bad is up to you. |
| Zincy #1298549 2 months ago |
There are other emotions. Above all i think sadness would have the best chance of winning. I chips away at every other emotion, and degrades even the strongest wills. |
| Roboshi #1298556 2 months ago |
It wasn't just the emotion either it was the combination of their two spells. |
| LorenzoP #1298560 2 months ago |
I actually liked it that way.
Sure, the "Power of love" is cheesy but a nice change from the "supervilan? HARMONY THE FUCKER!" Also, it leaves space for Chrysalis to return as a recuring enemy. |
| Anonymous #1298570 2 months ago |
@ Zincy but what about happyness? It trumps saddness always.
Really there is no omnipotent emotion.... execept boredom |
| Purplamena #1298581 2 months ago |
I am glad they did not use the EoH. It's a cheap cop-out. "Oh no, we have a problem! Lets use the Elements!" |
| Impious #1298594 2 months ago |
It was hilarious when Celestia was defeated with the power of love. I mean, that's something you'd expect HER to use, but nope, bad guy uses the power of love. THE BAD GUY! |
| Zincy #1298614 2 months ago |
Weaponized boredom would be the doom of us all. |
| Anonymous #1298618 2 months ago |
@Zincy
You could also use deceit to conjure up false love... |
| RepentantAnon #1298704 2 months ago |
how about weaponised determination? that would kick so much ass |
| Anonymous #1298768 2 months ago |
@RepentantAnon
That spell would basicly be a Nuclear blast |
| zzzrekir #1298974 2 months ago |
POWER OF LOVE MOTHERFUCKER! |
| KlinKitty #1299241 2 months ago |
Love = stronger Friendship. |
| Anonymous #1299276 2 months ago |
I thought the whole Power of Love thing was kinda cheesy too, but to be fair they did establish early on that Cadence's magic is based around love, so it made sense in-context. |
| Anonymous #1300094 2 months ago |
@Flamma
You know, correct me if I'm wrong But the changelings were just in the room next to where the elements were kept, so they just secured the entrance to the elements, not actually get to them. Honestly, I'm getting tired of the "Princess Celestia is an incompetent/evil princess" thing in this fandom. It was funny at first, but it's getting sad now. |

@Zincy Weaponized hatred? That sounds like a badass weapon for a new villain to use.
When it comes to this kind of new villain, I think of some form of insanely powerful and angry monster/warrior that can not only resist love and harmony, but use their own negative emotions/aspects from within to fuel their dark power. They could even have a (former?) good side, if one of their powers is sucking out the hatred/sadness/etc. of others and absorbing/destroying it. |
