Think:
Changeling Queen had A) the power to control minds and B) the power to turn into things. She also had ridiculous amounts of magical power. What if she cast a constant mind-control spell on Cadence to make her act like someone poorly faking being Cadence? Then she changed herself into Fake!Cadence and hid in the crystal caverns, where she waited for Twilight to discover her. She'd done research on the Mane 6 and other ponies of note, and had taken all she needed to know from Cadence's mind earlier (a Copy Memories spell, maybe). Then she runs up to the castle with Twilight, casts a spell to make Real!Cadence look like a Changeling, and funneled her own stolen Love Magicks into Real!Transfigured!Cadence, beating down Celestia. When she dualcast with Shining, she subtly altered the spell so that Real!Cadence would be ejected and she would not- and now, she simply acts oppositely from her forced double. She's got an in, the whole of Canterlot trusts her and her counterpart is now in Changeling Country, where she's most likely gonna get beat down and eaten by the friendly citizens. |
