Your ass just got sent to the moon and your not an alicorn, thus no magic to protect you from the harsh conditions of space. You die a horrible frozen death on the surface.

Didn'y you listen to what they said?

Even the Changeling Queen was surprised to see that she defeated Celestia. She was empowered by Shining Armor's love to Cadence which was so great that she was able to defeat Celestia.

So Celestia lost once to an already-powerful enemy that was temporarily on overdrive from having absorbed a ridiculous amount of magical power. Doesn't mean she's useless, just that she's not omnipotent. Cgeta already ended this argument with the first post.

Proof against OP: She can move the fucking SUN.
She allows the characters to not freeze/fry.
Anyway, in these kinds of shows love is the most
powerful force, and Shining Armors love was supposedly exceptionally strong so the Changeling, feeding off that power simply overpowered her.

Was it contrived? Definitely. But it does have an explanation that works in universe.

...Well, she raises the Sun, raised the Moon during her sister's banishment...Oh, actually banished Nightmare Moon in the first place, was capital in defeating Discord, TWICE.
Even the changeling queen was surprised she won. Celestia's defeat is caused solely by the fact the changeling queen was powered by Love between ponies.
Common, that's like being powered by pony breathing or something. Heck , if anything, it's surprising she held for that long !

From a point of veiw they just depict Celestia as very powerful.

That way we have the feeling that a baddie is INCREADIBLY powerful if they happen to beat her

It's a story telling tactic. Nothing more...

Celestia's been pulling the strings throughout the entire show and is the only reason that any of the other characters even exist to get any work done.

In particular, she is directly responsible for the founding of Ponyville, the awakening of the Bearers of Harmony, and somehow tricking them into being in the vicinity when evil shows up to screw everything over (although they may not be successful in stopping it.)

However, the Elements of Harmony (as magical objects) clearly do most of the work, considering that six ponies who are nowhere near as powerful as Celestia are able to defeat Nightmare Moon and Discord with them - she also required the Elements in both cases.

You might notice that Chrysalis was -stunned- to see she was actually able to directly overpower Celestia (utilizing misguided True Love from Shining Armor.) Twilight's return with the real Cadance and Celestia's subsequently attacking her were, from her perspective, legitimate unexpected major problems in the proceedings, that she was actually expecting to fuck her over.

Celestia is just a victim of extraneous circumstances and was never stated to be top dog in the great pantheon of supernatural entities.

Celly is a princess, Chys is a queen. We are playing a game where the one with a lower rank loses.
