Huh, the AMX-13 is not a very well known tank, is that the 75mm or the 90mm variant?

Vietnam was originally a French Colony so this is probably the First Indochina War.

Oh yeah Vietnam was a french colony, I'm usually pretty good with my history so I guess I just forgot.

I know, I'm sorry.

It's just that when Americans are in a war it always seems like they ignore any of the other participants in it.

Vietnam was a French colony before the Americans got involved and when they left the region, the Americans entered due to their fear of the spread of communism.

Yeah, the Cold War was a not exactly America's shining moment in history.

@Harlequin

Remember the missile gap? Man was that history's biggest pile of bullshit or what? Oh and the idea of the Soviets testing nukes behind the moon? Priceless.

I don't think the Cold War was anyone's shining moment in history. At least for all who participated. But lets not get into that debate.

the Viet Minh wouldn't have had Ak-47s at that time the best they could do was an SKS or SVT-40

MAT 49s were probably in the hands of some southern forces but as American presence and equipment increased these were more than likely replaced by Thompsons, M3 Grease guns, M2 carbines and eventually M16 rifles

@Anon206

The Soviet Union provided arms to the Viet Minh during the French-Indochina War, so it is possible they could have Ak-47s.

@Anon047
Your somewhat right as the amx-13 were not used in the French-Indochina War. That were however used by the French in the Algerian War and the Suez Crisis.

@Anon988

I blame Charles De Gaulle. Had he realized that The French Empire was long gone and hadn't declared war every time a French colony (or Spanish colony in the case of the Infi War) wanted independence he could saved France and the USA a lot of problems down the road.
