If fanmade material did affect how you view the show then you're a horrible fan and you never deserved to have known about it in the first place. |

Why should fandom affect how anyone views the actual show. I love the .MOV's for example but I don't watch the show and think "yep Fluttershy is a serial killer and Rarity has illegal immigrants working in a sweatshop." That would be silly. |

I enjoy the show more because of the fandom. I like seeing fandom acknowledged. I see things in episodes I can't wait to see exploited. |

And the fact that it's sometimes hard to tell actual nods to the fandom from coincidences. lyra and bon bon have been confirmed by animators as being paired in the background more often because of the fans haven't they? |

Actually the animators said that it was a coincidence that in Season 1 Lyra and Bon Bon were frequently paired together. We'll never know however, if the same can be said for Season 2. |

The fanbase and fanbase cannon will always be separate from the show for me. I love the show just as it is and I love the fanbase even if some of the fan cannon they create is bat shit insane. |

The created content of this fandom is usually very good.
Any lousy clopfic or the trolls on this site or Ponychan or EqD are still a very small minority. |

In general? Whatever "The Fandom" thinks is... sometimes entertaining, but meaningless. The fandom has long since wandered off into a separate universe from the show. |
