Thank god the artist is an amateur, because this scene is a LOT more horrifying in the story itself.
Also, very flattering interpretation of Derpy. Although she should be glowing a bit. She IS a Glowing One, after all. |

She was always a Glowing One, but I guess Glowing Ones don't glow as much if they're running low on radiation. A few more days and Derpy might have actually gone feral. And when you put that into context, the Wasteland would have been super fucked forever. |

Derpy was too strong-willed to go feral, I think. But she should look a lot more decayed. |

She wasn't a Glowing One to begin with, she accumulated a massive amount of radiation at Maripony when helping search for Littlepip and subsequently turned into a Glowing One. She kept herself away from Silver Bell because of the sheer amount of radiation in her system. The only way she could reduce her rads back so that she could be more like a normal Ghoul was to travel to Friendship City and learn to purge the radiation using an attack similar to the Glowing One's radiation bomb.
Later on, Derpy used that purge attack to keep attackers at bay and give her a speed boost. Which in turn caused her to create a Sonic Radboom. The amount of radiation purging she did, plus the stress of pulling off a Sonic Radboom while under heavy fire, reduced Derpy's radiation level back down to normal Ghoul levels, but it also almost killed her through exhaustion. |
