To me for any villain to stand a chance of being best villain thay have to be memorable, the Emperor is not when compared to other FF villains, heck I couldn't even remember him until Dissidia except for "that one FF villain that looked a little like Bowie in Labyrinth" so ya, far from best. |

Just my personal opinion. My second choice would be Kefka, and a lot of people agree that he is the best villain in the series. I mean... He completely came out of left field and went from pathetic comedic relief villain all the way up to world-ending nightmare clown, halfway through the game. And he had absolutely no redeeming qualities. I quote: "There is no greater music than a thousand voices screaming in unison!" I'd say he'd be on par with the Joker if he were a recurring villain, but alas he is dead.
I just like the emperor because the implications of him conquering heaven and hell make him super badass. He succeeded where Satan failed, he led the legions of Hell into Heaven, won that war, and defeated GOD in single combat. I'd say that makes him a huge fucking badass. |

I understand that Impious, my personal favorite FF villain is Exdeath, the Emperor wanted to rule over all, Exdeath wanted to erase all existence(or at lest after being engulfed by the Void) himself included. |

I mean if the 80s suck then so do any form of personal computer as the first one was made in 81, TCP/IP was standardized and with it the internet was made in 82, I guess they both suck, CDs became commercially available in 82 and that lead to DVDs then Blu-ray, the first commercially available cell phone in 83.
Funny, there are a lot of other things around to day that first came out in the 80s. |
