I can get why people don't like it. I cannot understand the outright hatred it gets. Seriously, people seem to regard Comic sans like it was the lovechild of Hitler and Stalin. It's an ugly font, for crying out loud. |

It's because it was meant to be used in comedy and happy texts, but people insisted on using it for FUCKING EVERYTHING !

I think most people don't like it because it 'looks' too amateurish. It's become the new Helvetica in a way.
Comic Sans is what you use when you're too lazy to go to a free font site and download a new, superior one. |

in a comic it looks ok, but if people write larger chunks of text in the font it just looks malplaced and amateurish. |

Maybe it's because I live in a Comic book world, but I've never seen a bad time to use Comic Sans in anything I've ever made. (Well, I can't say never, but for a large amount of the time, it seemed admissible, if not appropriate.) |

Comic Sans is one of the few fonts that Windows always provided, thus making it one of the most common in the world.
Since it's a font for... duh, comics, it's used for everything funny of not formal... plus, it's used for formal things too! And that's just too much, honestly. Comic Sans is very unprofessional, and shouldn't be used for srs bznz. But all this hate is actually the Internet overreacting. One last thing: ask this stuff on Reddit, on 4chan, on Facebook, but honestly... on Ponibooru?! |
