If Applejack doesn't seem submissive it's only because she is hard headed and stubborn.
Dash is flawed but is more well rounded and proactive than Applejack. |

Yes, Dash is flawed. So is Applejack. So are all the characters.
Applejack is usually written as the straight man of the group, which is why her character is "right" more often but is also less funny and subsequently gets less screen time. Rainbow Dash is sometimes portrayed as bumbling because it provides more opportunity for comedy. Applejack's character can be kinda one note though. |

i'm aware of AJ's straight man trope, but that is why i like her. a good straight man helps ground the situation. she gives the show a more normal air in the atmosphere of the magic, cartoon wackiness.
but, like i've said since the beginning, i don't really dislike Dash, i just just rubbed the wrong way by some of her fans. they tend to be more immature with their adulation |

That's fine. I don't agree with your opinion that Rainbow Dash is a fool. Immature yes, but not dumb.
Still, I can respect that Applejack is important to the show and helps ground it, even though I don't find her as interesting. And yeah, Dash fans can be annoying, but so can Pinkie Pie and Derpy fans. Just the way it is. |

Wait what. How is this about Dash being dom? There was some sort of explosion/disaster thing and their both injured. Applejack is clearly more injured and Rainbow is trying to protect her, being that she appears less injured.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with a character being flawed. It arguably makes Dash more interesting and gives her more opportunity for character development. Applejack is easily likable but, as I said is also kind of one note. |
