Hey, Mike? If you ever read Ponibooru comments (haha as if), I enjoyed what you did. Probably up there with Ask The Crusaders as my favorite Tumblr, and for the same reason: conveying the spirit of the show(s) properly. |

i'm still confused that he gave up on this blog (tbh we will never learn what was true reason of his decision) ... I wonder if he gave up completely on MLP (so no more awesome vectors, funny animations, comics etc) or just Dan vs FIM. |

Hm this is really sad ... I really liked that tumblr.
And if it isn't fun for him ... well we cannot force someone. On the other hand I find the reasons prodived a little weak ... I'm pretty sure all tumblr blogs get a ton of stupid comments and requests, they propably just filter them out. It's annoying but propably managable. With the dream computer ... well ... priorities ... I can totally understand how much it sucks to not get what you really want, but you have to compromise or look for alternatives and maybe get a weaker cheap computer at first to keep going and buy a better pc later. It's very sad that we loose such a brilliant tumblr and I hope that he changes his mind in a few months. Or maybe someone else with talent will create a sequel tumblr or something. |

Shit sucks, but I can't help but get whiffs of bullshit from the explanation.
Based on the tone and other stuff said I'm pretty much certain the real reason is likely that he started it as a one off or short gag and the response was so high he felt compelled to continue it. A common trap for ANY creator as it can be hard to let go of something with a fan base even if you've grown bored of it. The asploded computer is a good excuse to wash his hands of it and move on. (And waiting to buy a good one you'll keep instead of wasting money on a crappy placeholder makes perfect sense if your money is tight) I think he should have just come out and said that he was bored of it and wanted to stop frankly. Because in the end that's the only thing that can stop it, the fans are an excuse it only ends if you decide you don't want to continue. As ever though it's easier to deflect blame to someone else by saying some vague portion of the fandom "ruined it" then to shoulder the burden of saying "I'm tired of this, so I'm stopping, sorry" yourself. |
