Wait...
Why are we assuming that's a giant panther that eats black people?

Maybe it's a regular panther that eats tiny black people. Tiny black people are a real thing.

How are they called? I forgot...

@058 Thanks, mysterious Anonymous. And apparently they also come in blond and in hilariously obvious alien trying to pass as human.

@Maroon Yeah. Why do we tend to call black people "black people" and white people "people"?

Also, the panther is black. No one has mentioned that. I don't know, but seems relevant. It has been called "giant panther" but not "black panther".

Races are stupid. Let's all be human.

GUYS, IT'S NOT A PANTHER!

IT'S A BUNYIP.

The Bunyip was a monster in Australian Aborigine mythology.

How do you all not know this?

ok
story time
here is why I like the bunyip so much

The legends of the Bunyip have been around for ages, long before the english settled here, even before the dutch discovered the continent in... either 1500's or 1600's
anyway
the story was that a monster lived in the swamp lands in the wetter places. It had tusks, flippers, dingo head, black as the night, and killed anybody and anything that would come near.

Now the thing is, reciently paleontologists (i assume) have discovered the skeletons of dinosaurs that fit the legends and descriptions of the bunyip near perfectly.
But, the last of them died out about 50,000 years ago.
for those who don't know, the aboriginals passed on lessons, events, religion, etc. all through story telling, through word of mouth generation to generation

This means that this dinosaur managed to cause such damage, such caution, such fear, that the aboriginals still feared it 50,000 years after its existance.
AND that the aboriginals were capable of keeping the memory of this amazing dinosaur alive for thousands of years later.

I have always thought this was cool.
and now you know.

now, go back, and read it all in the steve irwin like accent that I have.

But non-avian dinosaurs died 65,000,000 years ago. None of them was around 50,000 years ago. Also, if it had flippers it wasn't a dinosaur, to be technically and annoyingly correct.

However, I can totally believe a creature with those characteristics could have lived 50,000 years ago. It just wasn't a dinosaur.

Humans (depending on the definition of "human") have existed for about a quarter a million years and I'd have to check a map of the human distribution of Oceania from back then (I do that sort of thing) but so far the story seems plausible.

FINE THEN
it WASN'T a dinosaur
just an extinct animal (ya cock)

and the aboriginals have been confirmed to be here for atleast 40,000 years, however there is some bits and pieces here and there that could mean they've been here as long as 60,000 years (wouldn't be suprised of the bunyip story is one of them)

We don't have cool monsters any more. Giant creatures were plentiful once and Australia always had the best ones. To this day their fauna is strange and tends to be giant.
A giant carnivorous kangaroo even existed: The Propleopus Oscillans. Artists that are not well and can only get an erection when children cry think it may have looked like this:

If any group of humans ever had contact with those monsters, it's actually to be expected that they would fear them to this day.

Dude, that's racist as fuck!
What are you gonna say next? That blacks aren't human? Maybe gypsies aren't human?
Tsk, tsk...
You shouldn't go dehumanizing groups of people just because they are different! Some of us are white, some are black, some are tall, some are plastic, but we are all people!

Well... I hate to base things on looks but if something has ever looked demonic it's the Wiggles.

I read once that if you rape a parrot's corpse when the moon is full you become a Wiggle, and again, why would the Internet lie?
