nonsensical comparison |
| marioandsonic #1279301 2 months ago |
This is like comparing MLP G4 to G3.5. |
| Impious #1279302 2 months ago |
Miss Faust, you may borrow my Ballistic Fist. |
| Anonymous #1279303 2 months ago |
Bay's got her when it comes to action scenes and budget. That's about it. |
| RandomFanguy #1279306 2 months ago |
I never realized how attractive Mrs. Faust was.... |
| geacu #1279307 2 months ago |

Ponies versus explosions. |
| Impious #1279313 2 months ago |
Yeah geacu, but nothing is as satisfying as punching someone with a shotgun. |
| SoundwaveSuperior #1279314 2 months ago |
Let the Bay-hating begin... |
| Anonymous #1279315 2 months ago |
@Fanguy
What are you talking about? That douchey smirk, that stupid haircut... Michael bay however, is a very nice looking redhead. |
| Saint_Braeburn #1279317 2 months ago |
@Soundwave
Your 3 minutes late. |
| geacu #1279318 2 months ago |
@313: even when you litrally can blow the enemie's arms,legs & head off in a single shot?

| Impious #1279319 2 months ago |
Soundwave, why did you let Bay turn you into a colossal faggot? How much was he paying you guys? |
| Impious #1279322 2 months ago |
And geacu...
>Punch dude >Blow him apart |
| geacu #1279325 2 months ago |
well i nearly never see balistic fists let alone look at the model of them :P |
| Glord #1279328 2 months ago |
I will admit to liking the pretty explosions in the 3 Transformers movies, but what he's doing to the Turtles is stupid.
And too many sex jokes in the second movie. Although I did like the foreign guy tazing himself. |
| Glord #1279330 2 months ago |
@Impious
Someone needs to invent that. Like for reals. |
| geacu #1279337 2 months ago |
@330: according to fallout,we might by 2077 or so...just in time for the nukes to destroy the world |
| Impious #1279339 2 months ago |
Well, the transformers movies were awesome as pure entertainment. But as far as being faithful to the source material, Bay utterly raped the sacred land. It might as well have been Transformers: Optimus and Bumblebee Take On the Decepticon Army That Doesn't Fight Back Alone, Also Shia Labeouf and Chick With the Tits |
| Saint_Braeburn #1279344 2 months ago |
@Impious
That's a bit harsh don't you think? I mean Micheal Bay isn't a horrible director he just has a large ego that makes him think that everything he does is awesome. And that he substitute story with explosions and boobies without anyone knowing. The first Transformers movie and The Rock weren't even that bad films. |
| Yorec #1279346 2 months ago |
I would love to have a ballistic fist IRL. I love me some hand-to-hand combat. |
| Saint_Braeburn #1279349 2 months ago |
I meant hat for your #1279319 comment |
| Glord #1279350 2 months ago |
I can't really claim to knowing a whole lot about the Transformers lore outside of Autobots good, Decepticons evil, robots that transform, from planet cybertron, and Unicron is really awesome looking.
TMNT on the other hand, I know a good deal about them. As long as you ask me about the 2001 animated series. lol |
| geacu #1279352 2 months ago |
@346: the only unarmed/melee wepon i care about:
the D-claw gauntlet,it is a godsend in NV |
| AppleDash #1279357 2 months ago |
I never expect hollywood movies to be faithful to the original source, I always judge it as it's own thing. That's probably why I don't hate the Transformers movies. |
| Saint_Braeburn #1279358 2 months ago |
I know I shouldn't but
Although, it should be noted that Micheal Bay is only producing the movie, he is not directing it. |
| Glord #1279359 2 months ago |
What does the producer do? |
| Yorec #1279363 2 months ago |
@Saint
Wait. There's a new Ninja Turtles?! When..wha..how..I'll be right back!! |
| Anonymous #1279368 2 months ago |
@Glord
Basically puts his money on the movie, sometimes he can make some changes and suggest things. |
| Anonymous #1279370 2 months ago |
@appledash
I think the main reason they're disliked is less the lack of faithfulness to the source material and more the scenes that could be giant robots beating the crap out of each other being replaced with someone's mom on pot acting like she's on lsd |
| Glord #1279375 2 months ago |
Then who is to blame for the Turtles=Aliens thing? |
| Anonymous #1279376 2 months ago |
not to say I don't enjoy the movies but I can see why it would bother people. |
| Yorec #1279402 2 months ago |
@Glord
Yeah that was weird. Why aliens of all things? Hopefully there's been a rewrite of that little factoid. |
| Saint_Braeburn #1279408 2 months ago |
@Glord
"A film producer oversees and delivers a film project to all relevant hosts while preserving the integrity, voice and vision of the film." And to to make matters worse Jonathan Liebesman the genius who directed "Darkness Falls", "Battlefield: Los Angeles"(which I personally thought was a decent film), and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning". Also Micheal Bay helped produce, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning". |
| Saint_Braeburn #1279417 2 months ago |
^
Dammit, I meant to add the that Jonathan Liebesman is directing the new Ninja Turtle movie. |
| MaroonBunyip #1279432 2 months ago |
a producer deals with the money side and people handling of the film, the goal of their job is to help the writer keep happy with decisions on what is happening to their idea, to help the director's vision come to life, and ensure the investor's money isn't wasted. the last more than anything, as they are the ones paying them.
although a producer dosn't actually help with the movie, the movie would likely quickly run out of money before it is finished. now in this particular case, what michael bay the producer has done here us come up with the idea that more people would see the movie if they were aliens. regardless if what the director would say, the people funding the movie more than likely took the producer's word on it because their ultimate goal is, of course, to make money. and the best way to do that, is follow the advice from the person whose actual job it is. hell, worst thing is, he is probably right. the movie has already gotten a fuck load of free advertisement from the uproar of making them aliens. well played michael bay. sneaky, dirty, and smart money making skills you have there. |
| MaroonBunyip #1279436 2 months ago |
wow... i was slow there |
| Takashi_0 #1279486 2 months ago |
I am legitimately surprised that we have yet to see fanart of the result of a battle to the death between Lauren and Bay;
Lauren holding Bay's severed head (with spinal column still attached, Mortal Kombat style), while suffering from minor burns from his explosions. Bay's body would be A. burned to a crisp from death by Irony B. Mutilated beyond recognition (and possibly made into cupcakes), with the arms and legs both missing C. riddled with bullets (magical or lead) D. Pummeled by Faust's might warhammer of harmony or with her BARE FISTS E. All of the above |

Impious@1279339 said:See this always amuses me to no end, LONG before Bay came along there were already about 20 different versions of Transformers with often WILDLY different origins, power levels, workings, etc. To say he "raped the source material" is flat out retarded as it assumes there is some actual single authoritative canon, which to anyone with even a PASSING knowledge of the universe knows is flat out hilariously untrue. Here are the 100% consistent aspects of transformers: There are robots that's transform into SOMETHING. Thus the Bay movies adhered perfectly to the core canon by having robots that transformed into stuff. Beyond that NOTHING in transformers is set to gaze upon it's convoluted universe is to risk becoming lost in a twisting nether of alternate timelines, mirror universes, and time travel your mind driven mad by it's futile attempts to comprehend it's terrible majesty. A fresh start with a new timeline was the ONLY sane way to go for the movies. |
