I'd rather have nine rounds of .357 than seven rounds of .50 AE. Anything bigger than your average .45 ACP is a little unreasonable to me...maybe it's just that I'm more comfortable with lighter calibers. Not that the .357 is weak or anything, It'll do its job, and a 158 grain hollow point out of a 4 inch barrel at 1250 fps is a proven manstopper. |

^Hey, I'm the last tp be unreasonable with calibers. For personal defense an APS with 20 rounds 9x18 but at least full auto seems better than anything else.
I'm just saying that if you're going to get an Desert Eagle which isn't really suited for CC (concealed carry, not crowd control) you can get it in .50 AE right away. |

this makes me miss my guns from reno. had a small arsenal from .22 cal pocket pistols to a fully automatic SKS tho my fav was a 45 cal I got for 50 bucks but lost it when brother used it in a robbery and had to ditch it. |

Who buys a deagle anyway? Heavy, can't concealed carry it, not much of a home defense since it's unwieldly and the round's gonna go through a lot of stuff before stopping. As for hunting, most hunting revolvers (and most bolt action rifles as well, even combined with purchasing a scope) are cheaper, more accurate, and less likely to fail.
And yes I realize that CN1 already said it's airsoft, I'm just wondering what the market is for this pistol. The cool factor only? |

No one should listen to what anon 243 said about the slide slamming. Every gun does that when it fires guys, so doing it when you drop the slide to chamber a round isn't going to be any worse than firing the damn thing.
And if anyone wants to question that logic, I know most modern and a lot of older firearms inside and out. I have years of accumulated gun knowledge, I know my shit. Also, there are much better guns chambered in large calibres. The Desert Eagle is a gas operated action, which is overweight and oversized for a pistol. You can get a revolver in .500 magnum that is lighter, more accurate, and more powerful. |

I totally agree. Though the desert eagle does have the two advantages of firing faster with its single action and faster reload with its magazine. Though I still dislike ridiculously overpowered pistols in general. |

I bought it as a spur of the moment kind of thing. I saw it and I was like "dayum! You know I've never had a Desert Eagle and I've never had a gas blowback. Let's change that by purchasing this."
And so I did. It may be airsoft but it's nice as hell. |
