We're going off tonight (hey!)
To kick out every light (hey!)
Take anything we want (hey!)
Drink everything in sight (hey!)
We'll go until the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Ooh! Ooh! Oooh!
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!

>Burn with me

The more I try, the harder it gets not to associate Celestia with that psychic star from Doctor Who

You are now imagining the lyrics to this this song being the origin of Solar Flare

Mourning Star/Morning Star is best name. Solar Flare is also good, but comparing corrupted Celestia with Lucifer is poetic.

Maybe Empress Midday would work? (Slavic mythology, personification of sunstroke) After all, sunstroke and unending noon go hand-in-hand. The resulting ecological devastation could be a metaphorical sunstroke.

IMHO, a lot of the names do not quite catch the idea of "evil sun".
In response to the suggestion of anon651, Mourning Star has the same three-syllable structure as Nightmare Moon, but raises the question of what Mourning Star is trying to outshine (the Morning star is second-brightest celestial body at dawn, prompting myths about failed attempts to outshine the sun).

Wait, WMG coming on.
What if Celestia is the Nightmare Moon analogue? "Celestia" was Princess Sol, but, for whatever reason, gets megalomania/the villain ball transforms to her current state by laying claim to the visible universe (All celestial bodies/ the Cosmos)? This may explain the break in duality; it seems fishy that one Alicorn sister was originally named after just the moon while the other one has a name that suggests everything in space as a domain.
