I think this has something to do with Gay Marriage. I just googled it and apparently this is a local amendment that is trying to legally define marriage as something between only a man and a woman. |

It's a proposed amendment in North Carolina to prevent any sort of recognition of same-sex marriage or civil unions. It's expected to have side effects complicating the lives of unmarried straight couples with children, and even some people who campaign against same-sex marriage are against it. |

Just looked it up. That's fucking Bullshit, North Carolina. I expected better of you. (Not much better, mind you, but still.)
Even if you don't want to allow same sex marriage in your own state, you should at least have the testicular fortitude to recognize the legality of such unions among people who come from out of state. |
