Before anyone flips their shit, no, they are not together or anything of that nature...
This is a random scene from the story I'm actually really considering writing now. Atlas is tasked with protecting Twilight Sparkle from assassination by a gryphon separatist extremist, who's come back in time to kill Twilight before she can seal a portal that is supposed to pull Celestia out of their dimension. The gryphon separatists think it will help them in their cause, but the truth is that if Celestia leaves their world's plane of existance the sun will die, destroying everything. The reason Atlas is (mostly) alone in his mission is because Celestia is adamant about following what they know of the good timeline, which isn't a whole lot. Unfortunately this leaves him almost literally carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, what's worse is he's told that regardless of the outcome he's supposed to die at the end of his mission. They start out waiting in Ponyville, but end up on the move and constantly on the run from hired thugs and one very sneaky assassin, though not very bright since he can't seem to get the job done. Oh, and they are supposed to be east from part of Manehatten, probably in whatever Brooklyn would be called in their equivelent of NYC. In my headcanon technology increases as the distance from Canterlot does, so they have vehicles, and as a result, smog. Though they have magic to make it all go away. |

Sorry, the story hasn't even been started yet, it's just a concept in my head for now.
