According to the M.A.S.H Wiki, Klinger started as an Atheist, but later became Catholic. However, in the Spin off, "AfterM.A.S.H, he was a Muslim. The actor the played Klinger was an Orthodox Christian. |

My problem with the Islamic portrayals of ponies is the fact that artists are ignorant of their portrayal of Muslim women. Though Islamic dress codes are often enforced in the Middle-East, Islamic women in the western world do not always elect to wear the hijab.
By portraying Muslim humanized ponies as ONLY dark skinned and ONLY identified as such through stereotypical dress, artists unwittingly undermine the universal intention of Islam and limits it to a single culture. A white woman in modern clothing is no less Muslim than an Arabic woman who dresses traditionally. The portrayal of Islam as a specifically Middle-Eastern faith undermines interfaith dialogue in the West and only furthers unhelpful stereotypes. tl;dr There's nothing wrong with this pic but Islam is more than dress codes and race; stop limiting a belief system in the name of "social justice" |

They never claimed Islam wasn't anything more than a dress code and a race. It seems to me your trying to bring up a bigger issue on an unrelated image that never meant to suggest the thing that offended you. Would you rather Western Media forget about Arab Muslims, and only portray them as white? And the Hijab is a major symbol of Islam, sorta like how the Kippah is a major symbol of Judaism. |

This wouldn't be a problem is there was any sort of nuances in portrayal of Muslims in media; if there was any sense of a Muslim community outside of Middle-Eastern (and sometimes African American) communities. The unfortunate truth of the matter is that, in the West, Islam is still regarded as a racial or cultural religion in spite of its emphasis on global community. One of the biggest challenges facing Muslims trying to spread Islam in America is the belief that only Middle-Eastern peoples can be Muslim. If Islam is to ever achieve the globalization it seeks, it must move beyond racial and cultural designations. No one suggests that Christianity is a faith bound to one race or culture; why shouldn't the same be true of Islam? There is absolutely nothing wrong with the image of an Arabic Muslim in traditional garb; but that is not the only image of Islam. I am not arguing against the artist's image; I am arguing against the very real stereotype of Islam as only an Arabic faith. Muslims come from many different cultures and backgrounds and it would be nice to see those reflected instead of the monolithic image of Islam we have today |

Islam is another religion of death. "Believe as we do or die." We should just glass the entire region and be done with it, but our corporations are too interested in stealing their oil to take care of the problem.
The Arab world chants "Death to America" and want to take over the western world because they have nothing, and made nothing and would still be stone age cavemen that got their asses kicked to the shittiest land on earth, if it weren't for the fact that the land they fuck over also happens to be rich in a resource that everyone else wants. When we finally move away from an oil economy, they will return to being stone age cavemen, hitting each other over the head to satisfy their clan honor. And all that Islam is worthy of are those retarded and weak cavemen. |

It is indeed. So there's some art that does archetype the Muslim peoples as dark skinned... and yet there's some that don't (like ponies just wearing the garb). By all means, commission it out. I just don't see the issue in this 'typecasting' as it stands. I could see the point if it's a constant theme and all. Not to mention Westerners in general has a very lopsided view of Muslims. Like how people generally seem to not realize the gigantic Asian Muslim population exists (which coincidentally is more lax about clothing regulation than Middle Easterners) |

People who believe fairy tales are real. We're in the third millennium, we should be discussing colonizing other planets. Lemme know how your space colonization works out for you while elementary energy demands of lifting a single load of basic supplies offworld cost more than you'll make in a lifetime, much less getting it millions of miles away to a planet with a lethal atmosphere and no particularly valuable resources to even make the trip worth anything more than a commemorative T-shirt. |

its well drawn and obviously made as a statement piece. Works better as fluttershy seeing as Rarity seems more of the Southern Belle type and I have never seen a hijab wearing southern belle. but back to the important part it is great art but kind of has a teenage attitude. |
