In a nutshell...
He's not attending because he dosen't like the show anymore and other artist deserve more credit at the con than him. He still likes the fandom, but not apart of it anymore. He no longer does pony art. Cteno isn't pony, but is pony inspired. |

Love and Tolerance was supposed to be a countertroll and nothing more. Not some motto everyone who is a fan of MLP is supposed to follow for their basis of operation. It is an admirable mantra to follow but do not expect everyone to do it.

@BlueCatzi Most likely those of us following the 'Love and Tolerance' quota are simply not commenting. That being said I'm a little sad that SB isn't doing much pony art any more but hey, it's an artist's choice as to what they draw. And I enjoy Cteno so I'll keep checking his tumblrs. |

Love and tolerance is a nice sentiment, but it is just that a sentiment. To ask people to appeal to some transcendent standard in order to gain entry into the group is the work of a religion not a fandom. Do not assume to be the judge or arbiter of who can and can't call themselves brony. |

Even in the show love and tolerance isn't the case, there are always disputes. Conflict is what makes the show good, if there wasn't conflict there wouldn't be anything to learn and it would be just like g3 again. |

the artist is a she? i thought it was a he... well this maybe just a random theory but i think slugbox did the mlp thing to gain a following(which he/she has) so that he can profit by make sales of his/her art. In some way he did like the show but i think he planned on profiting form it as well. Not to hate on the guy, he is a decent artist. |

well too somewhat brought them in was the ideal that a girl's cartoon being good for once. By season 2 while the writing hasn't change a bit the fact that the ideal of it wore off and those people left the fandom. those that stay do so because the writing, animation and characters are still very well done. And what slug claims, it kinda means he just used the fandom to make money and is going back to his old niche after he finished milking it... |

there were a few good girl's cartoons before this The Little Mermaid cartoon was good so was Powerpuff Girls ...but it's actually kinda hard to define which cartoons are girl's cartoons there were other cartoons that my sisters and I watched but I think they were more middle ground cartoons |

Exactly why everyone is argueing over the fact that a pretty good artist just doesn't want to go to a con baffles me. He's still around, just because he doesn't really have an interest in the show anymore doesn't mean he was milking it. He is still involved with other pony tumblrs, after all. I guess some people will just leap onto any reason to speculate about something. |
