Actually, I remember reading that we're approaching what Nietzsche referred to as a social cataclysm, where apathy and morality clash in such a way that humanity is faced with the choice of either letting go of personal issues and advancing the species, or dying off. Debates on nihilism aside, the basis is; as we near the cataclysm, reality blurs as it becomes more absurd. Things we'd never imagine happen and become the norm and it becomes harder to care as apathy becomes the only means of sanity. |
