The author is referring to what spieces they originally were: pony, therefore, hoof/hooves. It's a pun on silmilar usage by human, like:"You think you can escape my clutch?" In Chinese language, something like above is used like "escape from evil palm," while the Chinese equivalent of "evil" part is some sort of emphasization of "clutch" situation and not really suitable to be literally remained in translated text. Also, magical and evil sometimes share same writing in Chinese, and in the right strip above, it's "evil/clutch" not magical. |
