We know that she holds herself in a very high regard, so it makes sense that she throws herself at every stallion possible before the fic happened. We know that she strides for the best (and likes Canterlot) so it makes sense that she's a slut with names in a black book. And her being afraid of Spike? Genius. Never mind the fact that she kicked a manticor in the face without so much as a blink of hesitation, and wasn't even a little bit scared of the red dragon in that Fluttershy episode. It was completely in character. And Spike has wings apparently. And Pinkie Pie and Cheerily are dead. That was smart. And having several thousands words devoted to her talking in circles and having being described what a dick inside her feels like. Because I didn't get it the few dozen times before it. Seriously, that fic was written by the MLP version of Tom Preston with the subtleties of a CAD comic. You're all stupid. |

As far as Sleepless fics go, LFW was probably his best though it suffers from the same problems that all of his stuff does - ends up being twice as long as it should be and mired in eye-rolling drama. Rarity being a slut in her adult years isn't something that should surprise you given that it's a clopfic and clopfic authors are really loose with the characters out of necessity. If you're reading one the characters are guaranteed to be OOC to a point anyway so no big complaint there. @Bolan Regarding Rarity's Generous Plan, I couldn't stomach more than 1 chapter of it. It's truly horrible, though that's probably what the author was going for when writing it. |

Calling her a slut is not only sexist but a lazy dismissal of her loneliness and struggles - if she was a guy you wouldn't blink an eye at him sleeping around in an attempt to fill some inner void. Regarding Spike, why wouldn't a herbivore be nervous around a predator? Bravery isn't the opposite of fear, it's action in spite of it. Just because she kicked a manticore in the face doesn't mean she wasn't afraid of it. Plus, she's had nasty run-ins with dragons. Season 1, nearly killed all of them, Season 2, hunted down by a clutch of them. Leaves an impression. Regardless, she refuses to let her new fear get in the way, and overcomes it. She's just as brave as ever. Spike has wings in every single older-Spike fic I've ever seen, and Dragon Quest lends strength to them, seeing as every dragon there had wings themselves. Also, Pinkie isn't dead. You misread. Shocker, I know. |

I didn't see anything noble or sympathetic about her struggle or how she chose to address it since it's mostly of her own creation, though I did find it sad. Admittedly it's been a while since I read the story but I found her almost-decision to merely add Spike to her list at the end to be telling as to what her mindset was like over those years. I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree on that point. |

I haven't read it in a while either but from what I remember, I think Rarity contemplated on adding Spike's name to a newly created list. It was a different from all the past males she was intimate with. Then she thought against it because she said it was only ever going to contain one name which was Spike's. |
