Why don't people understand that you can't have a gun stock like this? If you can't draw a horizontal from the butt of the gun to any part of the gun itself, then that stock is useless and will only serve to act as a pivot point for the recoil.

I'm no expert on guns, but since ponies don't press the stock against the shoulder, does it matter?

@Velcro

If we are going to get into the ergonomics of how a gun for a pony should be designed, this is going to get very messy.

If ponies don't need a stock, don't make one, if you do, make it like a normal stock. Don't mix the two.

The stock looks similar to some very old rifles', mixed with the more modern type of stock. Whatever.
How does it load the shell and unload the empty one? the clip (that round part is supposed to be a drum clip, right?) doesn't seem to be connected to the action. Sooo...wtf?

Honestly, while I understand the artist is trying to make a pair of signature weapons and statues for each Fallout: Equestria character, I personally think this pair is a bad match.

Velvet's not the kind of pony to fight or kill on a regular basis; a shotgun is the kind of weapon for that type of pony. Admittedly, it plays a factor in one of her biggest scenes, but Velvet is WAY out of her usual character at that point, due to local factors. Any weapon used to symbolize her should match her default personality.

Personally? I would give her the dart-gun she uses in chapter 19; she may not use it often, but how she uses it (to help someone who needs it, even if they don't want the aid) matches her character better.

She uses the shotgun a lot more, though, against nonsentient targets. She is shown, on the little figure, with her medikits open.

That said, the shotgun probably could use a few tweaks.

Something tells me if were to start weaponizing ponies.. i have a feeling a stock would be an ineffective recoil device to begin with. Mainly due to the fact that in most pictures ive seen of guns on ponies, (that arent unicorns) the weapons are eather some kind of bit device or biult into the saddle. There would be no need for a stock since a pony cant sholder fire a weapon unless its lying down and then pulls the trigger with magic. (Aka Sniper Rarity)

I would immagine ponys would profer scatterguns, and automatic weapons since, for most, sighting down on a target would be hhhhaaaarrrrrd.

That being said why bother with clips? They would be hard to reload anyway, why not make all weapons belt fed?

I give a 0/10 for weapon construction
But a 10/10 to actualy post it (Since i cant draw for the life of me lol)

Just needs some work (remove stock, pull the drum clip, etc.) Wow, way longer then i ment it to be..

So much condescending in these comments...

The reason why Velvet is paired with a shotgun is because it is the first real weapon she wields. She is against killing, yes, but she did use the shotgun to destroy SpirteBots.

Of course, her later weapon of choice became a needler pistol, which would much more symbolic as a result.

As for the ergonomics; give it a rest, everybody and their mother knows the guns would be terribly difficult to handle and use. But at least the artist is trying, here.

And finally, the drum magazine's placement is a direct reference to the Combat Shotgun in Fallout 3, which featured such an impossible design. Again, everybody can tell that it would not really work in real life, so give it a rest.

I'm pretty tired of reading these criticisms in every upload. They are all the same as eachother and sometimes read a lot like copypasta. If you can't think of anything new, then can it, we get it already.
