To me, the kind of person who'd write this kind of stuff has absolutely no right to criticize even the weirdest or most disturbing reactions to it. You're writing the kind of stuff that's unbelievably obviously meant to instigate some kind of strong feeling; you can't just write and draw all that stuff and then sit back with your arms crossed talking about how people are creepy and weird for taking it too seriously or something. Well, you can, but it makes you look... like an even bigger prude than you looked by writing them in the first place.
Really, I haven't even bothered looking at any of your stuff for more than a couple seconds anyway, I simply avoid it because it's not my thing, and have never taken it upon myself to say anything against it when it'd be better to simply ignore it. Now, everything has a cause, doesn't it? It simply won't do to brush it off because the effect is minor. There's too much to learn in investigating the reasons behind it being. I could go through the effort of trying to explain my own theory for those reasons, but I doubt it'd be read properly and I can't be arsed. But I can certainly be arsed to tell you all that you should look into it some more and figure out why you're doing it. To the writer here, the fluffy abuse doesn't so much imply that you want to abuse animals but that you want to write about abusing them for others to read. Make of it what you will, but it's not something to simply brush off, especially if you don't derive pleasure from the character's pains - which, considering their innocence, is fairly likely. These things usually fail to get me to feel anything, you have to actually create a character before you can kill it. But in the most part, I'm just posting to tell you to stop. You can't just palm things off like that because 'it doesn't really matter'. You expended effort and thought and it is not at all conducive to discussion to dismiss anything as completely unimportant. |

Well I'm going to brush it off, as it is nothing important to me. This isn't all the writing I do, it's just a silly little hobby.
I don't find it any more serious or concerning than my usual example of Dead Space of Silent Hill. Those games have some fucked up shit in them, and I have no doubt that the writers and directors for those games are just fine in the head. Not to mention the fact they make ass tons of money off it. I create real stories with real characters, real plot, and real meaning as well. I completely detach myself from my emotions and my morals when I write. It's not as difficult as people seem to think. |

I just wanted to add that Silent Hill is not gore for the sake of gore, like Hostel for example. Silent Hill true objective in the game is to be good. Check the games: the only way to get your happy ending is facing your demons and doing the right choices.
There is violence for the sake of violence, and there is violence with a moral purpose. It's different. |

Dead Space too. (I played the second game only) The objective is to fight for our survival, while trying to get to the goverment sector and destroy the marker. Why? In order to save lives. I sincerely never saw a player "enjoying" crushing necromorphs. There may exists them, yes. But the reason I and most of my friends killed them was because we wanted to survive, and we would be scared about their figures. |
