@benger
http://www.cracked.com/article_19518_5-seemingly-random-factors-that-control-your-memory.html >Researchers at Princeton and Indiana University proved this by having one group of people read stories in 16-point Arial and others in the much more difficult to process 12-point Comic Sans MA and 12-point Bodoni MT. Quite simply, they found that the people given the shitty font retained the information better. |
| ProfessorOfHoers #1253906 3 months ago |
I refuse to believe people still use ie |
| AppleDash #1253908 3 months ago |
I always stay logged in so long as I don't move between wifi zones. |
| HeinousActsZX #1253910 3 months ago |
I use IE.
I also wonder why everyone's always so whiny about comic sans. |
| PonyFlea #1253913 3 months ago |
I don't stay logged in all the time in Opera. Wikipedia has this. And CS is great... |
| Amethyst #1253914 3 months ago |

| Anonymous #1253925 3 months ago |
It's a terrible font Heinous it's like God just decided how can I piss off mankind in this new technological age then he made ComicSans
yeah I'm maybe over reacting but as a graphic designer I hate ComicSans slightly more than Arial, Arial is a terrible font |
| ProfessorOfHoers #1253930 3 months ago |
<--- loves comic sans. |
| AppleDash #1253945 3 months ago |
Papyrus is worse than Comic Sans |

"Stay logged in" is actually the default. I suspect that the problem you're experiencing is that Shimmie ties session to a combination of cookies and IP, so if your IP changes, your login becomes invalid.
It's theoretically possible to fix, but I'd have to learn how Shimmie authentication works, which is code I've never had to delve into before. |
| Anonymous #1253961 3 months ago |
So login persistence is based on your IP *and* your cookie? Why would a pony image site need extra-super-duper-security like that?
(also approves of comic sans) |
| Eco #1253981 3 months ago |
I didn't write the code from scratch. The base of Ponibooru is a piece of imageboard software called "Shimmie", which I picked mainly because the Homestuck booru was using it.
Of course, since then, I've had to hack it to provide various features (most notably the filter and proper Postgres support). |

| benger #1253995 3 months ago |
^some ISPs change ur ip at regular intervals |
| ProfessorOfHoers #1254012 3 months ago |
eco lives? |
| MaroonBunyip #1254014 3 months ago |
is there a reason they change your IP? |
| Anonymous #1254034 3 months ago |
its for dynamic IP systems. Multiple users share the same IP address, and they shuffle them around depending on how much bandwidth they are consuimg and latency to optimize speeds. |
| NightJack #1254076 3 months ago |
I use Crome, I say logged in most times but get kicked out when I clear my full history and cookies. |
| NightJack #1254081 3 months ago |

NightJack: If you clear your cookies, no "remember your login" scheme in the world will save you.
That's the point of clearing your cookies. |

How about a feature that allows us to go a certain day or week in the past instead of typing in page numbers trying to find out where you left off? You know kinda like a calendar |

| Xuncu #1255259 3 months ago |
@GT; well, if you go from where you last were, and go forward to page 1, then you're gonna miss pics that're pushed back every time there's an upload-- unless there's a option to switch the post order so >>1 is on page 1, and this post is on page wherever-the-hell we'd be then. THAT'S what you'd prolly want.
But starting from the latest and working forward, you don't have that problem-- as well if you at least check your last fave or comment then you know how far you have to go. That's what I do--- did, before I pretty much started skipping weeks for like this past month, mostly because I was exhausted, had too much stuff going on IRL, and had to cut back on Pony as a consequence. And depending on if I can buy a used laptop for cheap or not, I might be missing alot in a few weeks for another few weeks as well when I go on this trip I'm planning across the goddamend country, by train. This hasn't been a very good quarter for me for completing my daily rounds. My Equestria Daily backlog is pretty damn long, too, so I've been keeping to fanfics/PMVs/music that either I've been following anyways, or the description really appealed to me, rather than trying to read and watch everything. |
