Twixie is that one ship that shouldn't be so unsinkable. Trixie is no way in hell just going to forgive Twilight right off the bat, let alone muster up the courage to even step foot in Ponyville ever again, and even if they do hook up every time Trixie looks at Twilight she'll be reminded of the night her life and reputation and everything she owned was destroyed. Basically a similar psychological reaction as a woman's husband reminding her of another man who raped her. Not pleasant.
And on Twilight's side, she's much too Lawful Good, and wouldn't put up with Trixie's borderline Neutral Evil/Chaotic Neutral personality. And if there was a relationship, Trixie would more than likely be dominant and possibly abusive -at least verbally- and I doubt Twilight would put up with that for long. And this is provided Trixie even shows up in Ponyville ever again, which is hilariously unlikely, or that she'd even be willing to have a conversation longer than thirty seconds with Twilight somewhere else, which is also hilariously unlikely. Twilight would no doubt try to be the good Samaritan and try to help Trixie out of her rut if it's that kind of story and Trixie's a broken Fillydelphia hooker, but Trixie would of course slap her hoof away because even at her lowest Trixie is too proud to accept charity. And then, there's the chance that neither of them are even gay. Jeez, according to shippers every mare in Equestria loves the taste of candy vag. It just doesn't work. Sorry to wreck your rectums, guys. |

TrixieShy just works for some reason. They're absolute polar opposites, which is always a plus because you should always ship goddamn foils I swear to God and it's unexpected and adorable. If anypony could melt the ice queen, it's Flutters, and if anypony could toughen up Fluttershy's self-esteem permanently it'd be Trixie.
Only other fic besides Kindness's Reward that this ship appears in is "What Happens in Ponyville..." where Trixie falls for Fluttershy, but Fluttershy has already fallen for Twilight, who is a surprisingly abusive partner because she's paranoid (no surprise) and has no idea what she's doing (no surprise). Trixie hates Twilight no because she ruined her life, but because she has enjoys pretty much everything Trixie ever wanted for free, and takes it all for granted and hurts every pony around her. It's pretty deep stuff. The ship never floats, though, unfortunately. Some girls just prefer being abused to seeing what's in front of them. Trixie gets friendzoned pretty damn hard. |

Twixie is such a nice ship because of the open possible outcomes of the two unicorns interacting. Not all art of Trixie & Twilight is even shipping either. A lot of it is them just doing something funny together, or having a magic battle, and etc.
It's interesting seeing them with one another and it's what keeps the pairing so healthy. Few other ships can boast the same, as many have deteriorated over time, like PinkieDash. |

Uh, Imp, I hope you'll excuse me if I pick apart everything you've said in this thread so far.
Hate to tell you, but Trixie is Twilight's foil, and by your own logic they're the ones to ship. And if she wasn't, she'd be the foil to absolutely any other character in the show rather than Fluttershy. See, foils are opposites. Trixie is radically different from Fluttershy. Trixie shares Twi's magical talent, Applejack's stubbornness and pride, Rainbow Dash's need for attention and recognition, and, whatever Rarity may say to the contrary, Rarity's sense of flair and showmanship. She also neatly inverts Twi's humility and team spirit, Applejack's honesty, Rainbow Dash's... um, I'll get back to you on that one, and Rarity's tendency to build others up and make them shine. But even if Trixie and Fluttershy were true opposites, they still wouldn't be foils, for the simple reason that a foil serves a specific purpose, to contrast and highlight a character's attributes. And since Fluttershy didn't do anything in that episode, Trixie wasn't used to emphasize any of her attributes, or vice-versa. Because of these same things, Trixie, even a reformed Trixie, has no reason to care about, or even notice, Fluttershy. She has a reason to care about her touted, and then demonstrated, magical superior. She has a reason to notice the three who stood up against her. For Fluttershy, nothing. It's also been pointed out that Trixie's reputation wasn't necessarily ruined by Boast Busters. To make that assumption, first, one would have to assume that the news actually spread outside of Ponyville, where that kind of thing just happens pretty much all the damn time. Then, you'd have to assume that anyone who heard would care, and that Trixie's entire ability to get by in life was predicated on that one lie. Real-world celebrities have been caught in worse lies before and been unaffected, and it must be noted that Trixie is a performer, not a professional adventurer. Beyond which, you say Trixie wouldn't forgive Twilight, but the things Trixie actually lost - her home and possessions - were so far from being Twilight's fault, it's unlikely even a grief-addled Trixie looking for someone to blame would connect her to it. As for being "reminded", first you need a better analogy than rape, that one doesn't even deserve a response. But I guess I've got to respond to it whether it deserves one or not, so here goes... Twilight saved her life. Twice. In the space of a couple minutes. That's almost the opposite of rape. Whatever else Trixie may remember about that night, whether or not she chooses to be grateful, I don't think she'll be able to forget that Twilight saved her. And we can't establish Trixie as being Neutral Evil or Chaotic Neutral based on anything in the episode. She deals harshly with some hecklers, but that's hardly even a surprise, and she didn't drag them onto the stage at random or do lasting harm. Even if you did pin her as Chaotic Evil, though, as Twilight expressed, there is hope that Trixie could learn her lesson someday, be redeemed, and not be an asshole to everyone. Indeed, nobody IS irredeemable, and if Trixie ever returns to the show I give it even odds she'll be redeemed within 22 minutes. Basically, Imp, everything you've said is BS. Sorry if I just completely destroyed your urethra. |
