Almost, the concept is similiar, but the yukkuri fandon is year more advanced than fandom. They're on the Contemporary Era while we're struggling on the Middle Age. |

I think in the cases of both yukkuri and fluffies, it started with the critters being adorably stupid to the point of killing themselves in stupid ways. Some people ignored the self-inflitcedness and latched onto the cute-critters-dying part. They're most likely very insecure, and they act all "edgy" because it makes them feel more "grown up", like those 13 year olds who play Modern Warfare and Counterstrike and spend the whole game calling everyone niggers. |

It's less hate and more that their purpose almost from the start was to provide this sort of entertainment.
The fact that the origins of them in-universe is that they're some drunk scientist's mistakes gone terribly right, and so easily replaceable, and you've got yourself open season on fluffies all year long. |

Well, I did say "most likely," and probably should have said "I think the most likely reason..." I was just making an educated guess. Truth is, I don't really understand how these people's minds work, and frankly, I like it that way.
Also, as I said, I thought the whole point was that yukkuri/fluffies killed themselves through their stupidity, not just that they died. I feel like the abuse stuff is in the same category as the stories where just looking at water from a car window causes a fluffy to drown. |

This is one way to let off some steam, I know it by experience. One of my mates I know was in Vietnam and after he came there he didn't got instantly drunk, started using drugs and etc. Instead he wrote a book. A book that contained violence and everything more or less disturbing text to any human that haven't been in a war. He still has this book and everytime he reads it he doesn't get any nightmares from 'Nam. That's how he can sleep his nights well. |
