Well, from what I understand the guy working on this game was made because people were taking screengrabs of it while it was in development. He threw a baby fit and ended up getting fired. Before he was ousted he put this virus into the game.
That's my understanding. So basically, petty and meaningless drama bullshit. Sonic fandom is seemingly maligned for this very sort of reason... that people can't ever stop in-fighting for even 5 seconds. I personally like the Sonic IP and like the games. I'm a "fan" but don't associate with any "fandom" activities so I can't elaborate beyond that. |

I'm the same. I can even unashamedly like some fanart, Rule34, fangame, fan fiction in Sonic fandom. But I'd never call myself an actually active Sonic fan. |
