That has got to be the most poorly designed gun that I have ever seen. That stock would only serve to act as a pivot point, that would send the gun up towards your face when fired, the concept of a pull back lever system would result in many rounds being accidentally chambered and ejected, and that scope is to far back to the stock.

Hurr: I've owned three Taurus pistols and they seemed almost EXACTLY like that.

That's why artists and fanfic writers are not engineers.

But how can we get the scope even deeper into the users skull?

The best solution to this problem would be fixed emplacement. For a mobile solution, perhaps a tripod attachment. One of the legs would have to face backwards and belong enough for the quadruped user to put a foot/hoof on while firing to keep the recoil from sending the gun too far up and - combined with the stock braced against the chest - backwards. It'd be an uncomfortable solution, though. Another solution could be secondary stock that goes past and around the neck and rests on the shoulder. But that just deals with the recoil and not the other difficulties of operating the gun.

My two cents: Ponies with guns doesn't make much sense to begin with.
